Lion Fight Promotions
In the wake of so many promotions (each to varying degrees of success) the USA has hosted, it now appears a new promoter is going to try their hand but in the state of Nevada. Lion Fight Promotions has boldly thrown their hat into the promotional arena at Dennis Warner’s traditional venue of Buffalo Bill’s casino in Primm, Nevada. Also interesting is that former Dennis Warner alumni Christine Toledo will be fulfilling the role of match maker. In fact many of the fighters appearing on the Lion’s Fight Promotions inaugural card are veterans of Warner’s WCK product.
Though some title appear to be for grabs at the time of this writing I am not certain if it’s a purely promotional title or an actual independently sanctioned title.
Lion Fight Muay Thai Promotions released the following statement:
Lion Fight Promotions is excited to announce its first full Muay Thai Rules event on February 12, 2011 which will take place in Primm, Nevada. The card will feature Malaipet vs. Mananquil (the rematch) and WBC Champion Kevin Ross vs. Rachen Petchnao from Southern Thailand plus many other great match ups (see line up below).
Lion Fight Promotions is led by former Las Vegas casino executive and Muay Thai enthusiast, Scott Kent. The new promotional company has been developed in consultation with Christine Toledo, one of the sport’s most popular champions and star of the reality television show (Oxygen Network’s Fight Girls) and documentary based on the women of Muay Thai. Both Kent and Toledo share a common passion for Muay Thai and are working together to promote the sport.

Needless to say every Muay Thai enthusiast in Nevada and California will be watching this closely. Can Lion Fight avoid the bungling of the other promoters or more importantly pay their participants which promoters such as Muay Thai in America have failed to do? I hope so at least.
