La Nuit Des titans 2013 Tours

La Nuit des Titans’ team has put together a very early announcement of a planned card for February 2nd, 2013.  Time Fight promoters are apparently already looking forward to their next event following their October 6th, 2012 Time Fight 2 event. By all accounts the Time Fight 2 event was a successful one. This will mark the 7th installment for the Tours, France based promotion.

Some initial information is beginning to emerge about the latest fight card of Les Nuit des Titans promoted by El Hadj Mekedem Boxing Club and Tours.

Several of the participating fighters’ names are already known and it is that there will be a four man tournament as part of the event. The names shared by Time Fight promoters are Yohan Lidon, Aikpracha Meenayothin, Yuri Bessmertny and Ghajji Karim. The possible weight for the four man tournament is 72.5 kg/160lbs.

In addition to the tournament there will be fights in the single bout or Superfight. Expected to participate are Fabio Pinca, Amine Kacem, Aziz Hlali, Issam Reghi with other “surprises” Time to Fight promises will appear. Just looking at the date of the event though it may be something of a logisitcs issues since Aikpracha has been announced to also be participating on the Yokkao Exterme 2013 event. Aikpracha is expected to be fighting at 70 kg on January 26th at Yokkao.

On the past La Nuit Des Titans events the card did shift due to unavailability of some fighters. Buakaw Banchamek (por Pramuk) was due to fight but because of his unavailability due to Thai courts, Aikpracha Meenayothin stepped in and fought Fabio Pinca, a widely acknowledged high level French nak muay. Aikpracha has since then become an increasingly familiar face among Thailand’s best Muay Thai talents fighting internationally as well as being a current Lumpinee stadium title holder. Even a precursory look at any of Aikpracha’s recent fights will tell you his reputation of being a dangerous and skilled Thaiboxer is earned.

Yohan Lidon is one of France’s best known Thaiboxers having been a 3 time world champion in Muay Thai and kickboxing – including being the first ever It’s Showtime 73MAX world champion. Lidon has also faced Aikpracha in the past with a decision loss result from their Thai Fight Lyon meeting.

Yuri Bezsmertny has been very busy in the past fighting a virtual who’s who list in kickboxing and Muay Thai.  His most notable win was over Sudsakorn Klinmee at Fight Code in 2011. Bezmertny has been matched tough to say the least having fought Gago Drago, Edvin Kibutz, and Armen Petrosyan in the past.

Karim Ghaji is a French-Morrocan Thaiboxer who has also gained a higher international profile. He won K1 Pro French title, K1 W.P.M.F European title and F-1 World Max Tournament. Ghaji is also the current K-1 rules ISKA world champion.

Even without Aikpracha’s participation this card is looking a lot like the stuff of a fight fan’s fever dreams.  And with an undercard promising appearances from some of France’s best known and best Thaiboxers it looks like one of the early candidates for best matchmaking in 2013. Hopefully as in the past a pay-per-view stream will be put together and it’ll be more than worth it’s modest price to get.
